Hello I am Melanie Wattles! I’m a registered nurse, certified infant massage instructor and certified pediatric massage therapist. I have lived in Austin, Texas for almost 30 years.
My goal for Baby Strokes is to promote infant / child massage to facilitate bonding and to enable all parents, babies and children to experience the many benefits of massage.
Cross cultural studies show that in societies where babies are rocked, massaged and breastfed, they tend to develop into adults that express compassion and caring rather than violence and aggression. I believe the deep emotional bonds formed in infancy through touch lay the foundation for a lifetime of love, trust, courage, dependability and faith.
Baby Strokes will provide a comfortable, non-judgmental environment to learn about the importance of early touch and the many benefits of massage that can be experienced by both the baby and child and you the parent/caregiver. Baby Strokes will teach you massage strokes and touch techniques that you can use with your newborn, older baby and growing child.
