Mamis!
Okay, Jasmine got her first pets this week - two goldfish that she
quickly named them Phoebe and My Girl. Thanks to Christina (M4)'s
shared potty training technique of calling poo "fish food" to make it
easier for little ones to do it in the potty, Jaz asked me (in the
middle of the store) "Are we going to feed them poo poo?!" The fish
died the next day. I'll let you know next week what the autopsies
reveal they had eaten on the day they perished. :( Oh, and we're buying
two more tomorrow... :)

2. NEXT INTRODUCTORY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY 7/16: New
members, as you know, you must attend a Mamistad Introductory Meeting
before being placed in a private (numbered) group. I was hoping to take
a break for a few weeks but there are so many of you I've scheduled

3. CHARITY DOG WASH 7/18: An invitation from Christina (M4):
...We are really excited about our dog wash, because we are partnering
with Fur-Get Me Not in Shirlington, VA.
If you've got some time the morning of July 18, 2009, and are looking
to do something different, please consider signing up for a shift. The
first shift is 8:30-10:30, the second is from 10:15 to noon.
If washing isn't your thing, please spread the word, and encourage your
friends and family member to come on down and get their dog a bath. See

5. MAMI HUG DISCUSSION: This week a fellow Mami contacted me
with an urgent plea and it prompted my creation of the "Mami Hug"

Message Board. I hope that others of you will feel free to post
your stories or requests there. I know many Mamis will send you their
positive Mami thoughts, prayers, etc. Thank you to all who read the
message from Edwidge and surely sent her a Mami Hug in your thoughts.
